How I Increased My Blog Traffic Using Ahrefs Keyword Explorer
This is my first case study, and everyone's got to start somewhere. I used Ahrefs' Keyword Explorer to target "easy" keywords in short blog posts: terms with a keyword difficulty score of 5 to 10, each turned into its own microblog. Here are my stories. (SVU dun dun.)
Starting from square one
I've been doing SEO for about a year now, and my blog is still pretty new. I do web design too, and that takes time away from blogging.
I've neglected my blog for long enough. So I'm running this study.
Here's my process
I went into Keyword Explorer hunting for terms with very low keyword difficulty: keywords Ahrefs has determined don't require many backlinks to rank in the top results.
I work in search engine marketing and website design, so I searched for untapped keywords around web design and SEO.
As Interaction-design.org puts it: "Design does not become intuitive by magic. When we experience a design as intuitive, it's because we have encountered something like it before."
Empathy
Copywriting leans heavily on empathy and user personas. The writing on your website may be your only chance to talk to the end-stranger, so talk to them like you already know their struggles and their pain points.
